Becoming boyfriend and girlfriend during the pandemic while living an hour apart from each other... Seeing each other on the weekends and doing outdoor activities that were open.

With Jaina starting school at UW-Whitewater in the fall, the distance between the two grew from an hour to three. But Jaina and Rob stayed connected by playing online games together and watching tv shows and movies through Facetime. The distance didn't seem as bad with Facetime and seeing each other once a month or so.

First round of Holiday seasons together and the first chance to meet both of each other's families.

Rob graduates from IUPUI and moves to Chicago to start working for Slalom, making the travel between the two a lot easier.

Jaina and Rob take their first trip together and drive to Michigan! The two stopped at Holland and Sleeping Bear Dunes before heading back down to Indiana.

May - July 2022 brought the hardest challenge... Jaina was studying and working abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France for two months. This would be the longest time that Jaina and Rob had gone without seeing each other at least once and getting to find the time to even watch an episode of a show was difficult.

Rob and Jaina take a trip to Ohio to celebrate their birthdays. After some trouble with the original hotel, everything ends up going smoothly.

Going on their first international trip together, Jaina and Rob go on a Bahamas cruise over New Years Eve.

After graduating from UW-Whitewater, Jaina moves into Rob's apartment in Lakeview.

Jaina and Rob start going to anime conventions together in Milwaukee and Rosemont throughout the year.

Visiting the field museum together for the first time, and seeing museum campus where Rob would eventually know as the spot he wants to propose at.

A new friend comes home! Jaina and Rob adopt Baron from the Hinsdale Humane Society and bring him home to be friends with Rob's cat Winnie.

After hijacking a weekend for Jaina and her friends, Rob pulls everyone to the Field Museum on a bright, sunny Saturday with the ring box in his pocket. After walking around the museum and museum campus, he proposed to Jaina by the lake.

After spending time thinking about venues and dates, Jaina and Rob decided to get married at a spot that they fell in love with early on in their relationship: The Morton Arboretum. Taking their engagement photos at the same venue, the date was set for October 9th, 2027.
